Villa at Bhavnagar

Lying on the summit of the highest hill in Bhavnagar with a stupendous view of the entire city at its feet. The main goals were to add this structure in a way that it wouldn’t impede the view of the existing house. In order to integrate the structure harmoniously into the hill, the mass was broken into 3 parts, and played with a combination of flat terraces (at various levels) and sloping roofs. We connected these 3 parts of the house with lotus ponds, a stepped water feature, and Landscape courtyards all collectively “enhancing the Experience of Nature.”

Kasturi Bunglow

Set on the edge of the Kune plateau in Khandala this home drew its inspiration and aesthetic from Tuscan Architecture. It was planned on an open H design with an elegant 100 foot-long corridor connecting the residential and living room wing to the dining and guest wing. The glass lined corridor runs parallel to the gorgeous view and it’s mid-point is punctuated by the entrance foyer which introduces the visitor to the vista. The living space steps down to give it some added height and is surrounded by a wrap around verandah held by Tuscan columns and also overlooks the ornamental garden nestled in the upper arms of the ‘H’. The expansive roofs are covered in terracotta tailor tiles which further serve to bind the home to its Tuscan inspiration. A garden on three terraced levels runs parallel to the driveway ending at the entrance court of this bungalow. The house accommodates formal living and dining rooms, two studies, a master suite, two guest bedrooms and a modest media room.

Bunglow at Amby

The brief for this project was to design a house on the lines of a Swiss Chalet. The entire house was clad in Mathios stone; the window lintels and cills were textured with wood finished stamped concrete and the sloping roofs were clad with Prussian blue coloured concrete roof tiles. This house captures fabulous views of the lake from the various levels and decks.

House in the Hills

This 20,000 Sq. Ft. house spreads over a large longitudinal expanse of the Aamby Valley Hills. While one- third of the house sits on natural earth, the rest of it sits on large columns growing out of the valley, from 50′-0″ below. The main governing force behind the design was to blend the house into nature. The house has been woven around the numerous trees present on site, resulting in the creation of several tropical courtyards within the house. Thus, as a person moves from one part of the house to the other, he enjoys the strong presence and feel of nature. A strong connect has been established between man and nature in this house.

Private Residence

A private bungalow along the Arabian Sea along the port town Dar es Salaam Tanzania. The bungalow is elevated from the road to get unrestricted view from the Arabian Sea. A massive infinity edge pool reflects the sky to provide a seem less edge between the built and the unbuilt. The pool over flows into the basement creating an overflowing fountain along the lower entry. The idea here was to design a fan shaped structure so that all corners of the bungalow get an unrestricted view of the Arabian sea
